With a call to reach the Chain of Lakes with excellent Gospel ministry, Light House Church, (LHC), entered into contract to purchase 2819 Johnsburg Road in late May of 2019.  The 9.59-acre vacant farmland fulfills everything we were praying and hoping for in a permanent location for LHC.  

2819 Johnsburg Rd. in Johnsburg, IL is: 

• Only six minutes from our current location, (2742 Barney Ct. McHenry, IL 60051)
• Close to the Fox River, in the heart of the Chain of Lakes Region 
• Almost 10-acres of land so we have room to grow and for community gatherings.
• Highly visible on a well-traveled road.
• Near neighborhoods, so we can be involved in the lives of the people we serve.

The vision is to construct a beautiful and practical church ministry building that will truly be a lighthouse of hope and Gospel ministry to the Chain of Lakes area.

After a 17-month long battle to obtain the conditional use permit necessary to operate as a church on the property, it was granted on November 17^th, 2020 and we closed on the property on December 30^th, 2020.  Thank GOD!

There was something about the address that seemed familiar and important.  One day it became clear; Matthew 28:19 is the Great Commission.  “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Our time for waiting, wondering, and watching has come to a close.  We never stopped ministering, serving, worshipping, loving, to the extent we can in our current facility, but we held back from raising funds to build a church because we did not know if we would be able to worship on the property.  Now we clearly see the hand of GOD, (like the pillars of fire and smoke in the wilderness), confirming the direction He is leading us.

Simply put, IT'S GO TIME! It's time to pray about what GOD wants to flow through each of us for this mission. What talents, time, treasure, and tools do you have that can help advance the Gospel? I believe GOD has provided everything we need to take the next step in this beautiful community of faith we call Light House Church. Our marching orders are contained in the very address of the property, (28:19). It's time to advance, to engage, to stretch out, to build up, and to reach out.  

Our goal is to raise $281,900 which will enable us to secure the construction loan.  We are challenging everyone who is ministered to by LHC to give toward this goal.  After one of our members decided to give $2,819.00 toward the building, we are now asking everyone who can to consider giving $2,819.00 during 2021, (that’s $7.72 a day).  Some will be able to give $28.19 every week.  God has already been providing through the generosity of His people and we believe He will provide as long as we seek to fulfill His Great Commission.
